We still make our suits the old-fashioned way, cutting each suit by hand, one at a time in our workshop in Denver, Colorado, and sewing the the suits by hand with hand prick-stitching, handmade silk buttonholes and pocket tacks.<\/p>\n
But nowhere is the unique quality of handwork more obvious than in our westernwear.\u00a0 We draft all of our artwork directly onto the patterns, using a pencil, and all of the blanket-stitching and chain-stitching is done by hand, one stitch at a time, so that (unlike with modern computerized embroidery) each stitch follows the contour and direction of the stem, flower, or butterfly that we are embroidering.<\/p>\n
We love to work with motifs from the natural world and to express the life and heritage of the client through the motifs he chooses.<\/p>\n
Our pieces are made from classic wool gabardines and other heritage materials—-the juniper vest is made from an English wool tweed.<\/p>\n
We fit each suit using our muslin fitting method, where we cut and sew a prototype of the piece from cotton and draw the embroidery on.\u00a0 Often we fit this by mail.\u00a0 But, in person or by mail, a perfect fit is guaranteed.<\/p>\n
