Bespoke Tweed Suits

When it comes to wool fabrics, no type of fabric represents menswear heritage like tweed: Classic weaves like herringbones, and houndstooth.  Flecked Irish Donegal yarns with so many colors.  Estate plaids and hunting thornproof. These fabrics are part of an ancient tradition that dates back over 2,000 years in England, Scotland, and Ireland.

Custom Waxed Cloth Field Jackets and Vests

There is something about waxed cotton that feels so different than other weather-resistant fabrics. More authentic.  Less modern or plastic-y or tacky. Like pull-up leather, waxed cloth changes a bit each time you wear it.  It scratches and cracks and then the cracks begin to fade. It is sort of like having your history written in the fabric---the patina of your every motion.

The Future of American Sportswear

In the United States, we tend to call the best business and formal looks and fits “European” or “Italian” or “British,”–sometimes for good reason, and sometimes merely as a shorthand for saying that a look is “good” or “exciting” or somehow intangibly different from the basic relaxed New England look that we are used to […]

Editions ’36–Custom Sportswear

Our Editions '36 pieces are constructed one-at-a-time from authentic heavy weight woolens and cottons to create pieces with the same durability that garments had in the 1930s. The pieces are totally unstructured and quite fitted with high armholes for extra movement. We can also add back pleats and gussets for "an action back" with even more movement, depending on the activities you plan on doing while wearing the jacket.

Retro and Mod Suits–Custom Tailored

Every suit that we make is unique and made for an individual client. We don’t have 5 or 10 or even 500 designs.   For every suit that we make, we start with the client and his own sense of style. We ask him where he will wear the piece. How often he will wear […]

Wool Sport Coats

This jacket is a piece that I made for myself from some leftover Italian wool suiting that we had. It is inspired by 1920s and 30s motoring and sports jackets but has somewhat more modern style lines. The beauty part of our bespoke jackets lies in the fact that each and every detail can be […]
