This is a round-collar Victorian Vest that we developed awhile back. Like many of our styles, the vest has a very distinctive look that is historically informed and yet (worn with the right outfit) quite modern.
The other pictures show the vest with a double-breasted suit that we tailored for a vaudevillian wedding on an island, and
Victorian Vest and Double-Breasted Suit
another incarnation of the same style of vest, worn with a pair of our tapered leg tuxedo stripe pants and a suede shirt.
Many of our more “historical” pieces can be worn with jeans
Full Length Victorian Vest and Trouser
or a pair of leather pants, for a more funky look, just as easily as with tie or cravat. Part of styling clothing in this way involves being able to understand what was “modern” about a historical style when it came in to being—as well as using the highest quality of suiting materials.
As with our other pieces, this one can be fully customized.
The final pic shows a summer version that we made for another wedding, cut from linen and lined in striped cotton with a notch (rather than round) collar.
